A Plethora of Cookbooks

Longtime customers of mine moved back to town and into an upscale retirement home. Having no need or desire to cook meals since they have restaurants (and several bars) in the facility, I was given all of her cookbooks. It took two trips to haul them home.

To the Moon

Rising gas prices. I remember filling up a tank for $8-$10 but that’s a story for another time. Ever wonder why prices increase over time? It isn’t because things are “worth more”. Low-energy mouth breathers parrot that excuse. Dig into how money is created. If it doesn’t make your blood boil, you’d better check your pulse.

Edit: Today is May 26th, 2022 and gas is $4.09 and $4.51 per gallon here. Sure, it’s higher elsewhere but that’s their problem. I live here, not there.

An Unexpected Gift

While picking up a new customer’s notebook, I absentmindedly cleaned my glasses with my shirt sleeve. When I delivered the notebook the next evening, that sweet old lady had bought me a microfiber cloth to clean my glasses. It’s little acts of kindness like this that keep me from losing all hope with people.
