I recently reconnected with one of the finest people I’ve ever known; Anita. She was my trainer on the fire department and nobody could ask for a finer friend. This grand surprise arrived in the mail today and it goes perfectly with a piping hot cup of Earl Grey tea.
A Gift from the Good Doctor
Dr. B, a good client of mine, saw this while on vacation and, naturally, she thought of me.

The Set is Now Complete

Just in time for Sunday’s anniversary viewing of Deadwood The Movie, the complete set of Blue Willow dishes used in the show I’ve previously mentioned. These are an exact match, in every detail, to those which were used on-screen.
Blue Willow Cup and Saucer

The first cup arrived and the second cup is on the way. An exact match to Swearengen’s sugar bowl and creamer have been found and should arrive just in time for the anniversary viewing of the movie.
My Collection is Incomplete

In Deadwood’s penultimate episode, “The Catbird Seat”, tragic events unfold and Swearengen hides Alma in his office as they await Bullock’s return to camp. It looks like I’ll also need to add a creamer and sugar bowl to have the set.
Swearengen’s Blue Willow
I collect coffee cups. I’ve been binging HBO’s Deadwood (again) and noticed the cup from which Al drank his coffee. The anniversary of the first airing of Deadwood The Movie is coming up so it looks like I’ll be adding another cup to my collection. But it must be an exact match or it just won’t do.
Another reason for wanting this cup is because my Grandmother had a complete set of Blue Willow dishes on which she’d serve Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners many decades ago.
