Hoppin’ John and Skippin’ Jenny

Hoppin’ John is a traditional southern meal of black-eyed peas, rice, ham, and greens made on New Year’s Day, representing luck and prosperity. Leftovers are then called Skippin’ Jenny and represent frugality.
